Yankees 2007: Wang Goes the Distance
Yankees 2007 — Game 59
Wednesday June 6, 2007 at 8:05 p.m.
(Record: 26-31)
at Chicago White Sox
[New York. June 10, 2007.] A rare complete game for a Yankees pitcher. In a season where the bullpen has been overworked and ineffective, a game like Wang gave the Yanks can e crucial.
Yankees 004 000 010 [5 11 0]
White Sox 001 000 000 [1 5 0]
WP: C. Wang (5-4)
LP: J. Vazquez (3-4)
Home Runs: Bobby Abreu (3)
Three Stars
#3. Alex Rodriguez - Alex’s long single in the third gave Wang all he needed. I dropped Alex to third star because he tried to stretch — or maybe it was because he did not hit it over the wall, as expected this season.
#2. Bobby Abreu - Did I see Abreu hit one out the other way? I hope I see that again.
#1. Chien-Ming Wang - A complete game for Wang. When he is on, he is really on! He only allowed five hits and one run in this game to earn his fifth win.
