Yankees 2007: A-rod and Pettitte Combine for Win
Yankees 2007 — Game 33
Tuesday May 8, 2007 at 7:05 p.m.
(Record: 15-16)
Texas Rangers
[New York. May 9, 2007.] Pettitte looked like the old Pettitte, Alex looked like the April Alex and the Yanks walked away with a 8-2 win. Unfortunately, we are still watching a sub .500 team…
Texas 001 000 001 [2 9 1]
Yankees 003 140 00X [8 12 0]
WP: A. Pettitte (2-1)
LP: M. Wood (0-1)
Home Runs: Alex Rodriguez (15)
Three Stars
#3. Robinson Cano - Robinson was 2 for 4. He has been struggling all season with his swing and needs more games like this. I make him the third star in hope that this two-hit game will turn him back into 2006 Cano.
#2. Alex Rodriguez - Finally home run number 15. I was waiting for people to start complaining about how Alex’s April was a fluke and he is back to his non-clutch ways.
#1. Andy Pettitte - Andy pitched well and got the win. That has not happened together all year. Andy pushed through seven innings, surrendering only 1 run on 7 hits. If the staff starts pitching like this, maybe the bullpen will actually get a break.
